Neutrino self-interactions and the matter power spectrum

An evolving comparison of the matter power spectrum with neutrino self-interactions against the standard-neutrino reference.

Large-scale structureNeutrinosSelf-interactions

The ratio of the matter power spectrum with neutrino self-interactions to the standard-neutrino spectrum varies with wavenumber, with a dashed unity reference.

About this visualization

The blue curve shows the matter power spectrum with neutrino self-interactions divided by the standard-neutrino spectrum. As the effective coupling G_eff varies, the animation shows how departures from the dashed unity reference depend on wavenumber.

The plot labels N_eff = 3.046 and Σmν = 0.06 eV, and identifies the calculation as Modified CLASS — NSI_cato. Values above or below unity indicate more or less power than the reference at that scale.
