About this visualization

The animation compares cosmic structure in two scenarios: a total neutrino mass of zero and 0.4 eV. The side-by-side view highlights differences in the appearance of small-scale structure.

What to look for

The final graph shows the ratio of the linear matter power spectrum to the massless-neutrino case at redshift zero, for total neutrino masses of 0.1, 0.2, and 0.4 eV. The highlighted small-scale region emphasizes where the suppression is more pronounced.

Available versions

The main version has a light background and includes the power-spectrum comparison. A 40-second alternative with a dark background is also available in the downloads. The animations have no audio narration; the explanation above describes their main scientific message.
